I just wanted to drop you a short letter now that the property has sold. As I told you when we first met, I had never sold any property before and I want to thank you for answering my basic questions and walking me through everything step by step and having it all make sense to me. You certainly knew the area and the local market and expedited things that could have slowed things down. When the interior of the house needed painting you immediately had the names of painters to bid on the job. After the house was inspected a small gas leak was discovered and the roof needed to be replaced; you took care of the gas leak without breaking stride and lined up three bids on the roof and pushed that through in time to meet the fast approaching closing date without a hitch.
The house was empty and the painter did a fantastic job but it did look a little cold and uninviting. I was very impressed with the “extra touch” you provided by bringing in some paintings, a table and chair and some rugs to brighten the place up and give it a little more warmth. In fact, it looked so good that I thought about taking it off the market and keeping it myself (just kidding!)

My wife and I started looking for our first home (by ourselves) approximately 1 ½ years ago. We started looking casually but got more and more determined in the last six months or so. Being a commercial realtor I hoped to find our dream home myself, put in the offer and save a lot of money. Instead we ended up chasing sold signs around town as other purchasers got to the homes we liked before we did. If I got a nickel for every one of those houses, well!
I met Roger and Steve at an open house in Ravenna and was impressed by their straight-forward approach and their professional attitudes, not to mention their excellent chocolate-chip cookies. They didn’t try to over-sell themselves; they only asked that we take a copy of this booklet. It was refreshing not to have an agent pressure you into signing in so that they can bamboozle you later. We asked them to represent us right then.
Roger and Steve made themselves available to us seemingly 24 hours a day and were very patient while we tried to define to them our dream home. Having looked unsuccessfully for as long as we had, we were pretty sure that we wouldn’t be able to find the brick Tudor with the sunny back yard that wasn’t either on a busy street or in need of some substantial repairs. Roger and Steve kept looking though and eventually found us the house, the very one we were looking for. Amazingly it was within our price range. Something we had long ago thought impossible.
I have to thank Roger again for working so hard for us. I know we had worked all weekend but he got in there and presented our offer at 9:30pm Monday night. It had been put on the market just that very morning! He came back with a signed acceptance. As it turned out, an offer for more than the asking price came in the next morning but by then it was too late. Were it not for Roger’s dedication we would have missed out on the house.
To all who are looking for houses out there, don’t underestimate the value of a good agent. There are a lot of bad ones out there but my wife and I feel that we were incredibly lucky to have met Roger and Steve.
