Real estate transactions are rare for us, and as a result, they are somewhat stressful. Several things come to mind immediately as I recall our purchase process.
First of all, I felt you were a strong advocate for us in the bargaining. You took the time to understand our financial situation and needs, and were able to use that information to our benefit in the bargaining process. There were several times when I think you took very strong positions with the selling agent for us.
Second, you acted as an advocate for our own peace of mind. Because this was the first house we found, if you had not encouraged us to consider other houses, we would have been vulnerable to “buyer’s remorse”. I have thought several times about the time you spent driving us all over Lake Forest Park, looking at house after house. It may have seemed like a waste of time in some ways since we didn’t buy any of them, but I have often thought about our house in relationship to them and I feel that given the market at the time, we got the best deal possible. If you hadn’t strongly encouraged us to survey the market, I would be wondering if we had done the right thing.
Finally, you acted as an advocate for us even after the sale had been closed. There were several times when the selling agent didn’t follow through with things in the manner we understood he would; everything from the house insurance to the listing sign! You initiated follow-up contact with us, and then worked through those details with the agent for us.

Your careful attention to detail, your strong advocacy for your clients, and your willingness to follow up even after the real estate deal is completed; all make for strong recommendations and return business.
